Buladde Medical Research Institute
The active participation of our co-founders at the BMRI Annual General Meeting underscored the growing integration of modern ICT with traditional healthcare systems. Their presence was more than symbolic; it illustrated how Landsat ICT Solutions (LICTS) has carved a meaningful role within the health sector by delivering digital platforms and infrastructure that directly enhance quality of care and research outcomes. This partnership highlights the strength of combining technology and medical expertise to raise healthcare standards locally and internationally.
Buladde Medical Research Institute Limited (BMRI) is a specialized medical and research institution co-owned by LICTS, Medical and Molecular Laboratories (MML), and ArmCare Uganda. Operating within the Republic of Uganda, BMRI is designed to bridge gaps in medical care, research capacity, digital-health adoption, and scientific training. Its mission goes beyond providing diagnostic and clinical services; BMRI seeks to expand Uganda’s contribution to global health through innovation, resource mobilization, and evidence-driven research.
BMRI’s core objectives include fostering an environment that supports medical advancement, developing highly skilled scientific and clinical personnel, and building comprehensive data and biorepository infrastructure to support national and international research needs. To achieve these goals, the institute prioritizes strategic collaborations with academic institutions, development organizations, and technology providers. Its work spans specialized medical care, research services, digital health solutions, and the development, production, and distribution of pharmaceuticals and other health-related products.
Through these initiatives, BMRI is positioning itself as a key contributor to Uganda’s biomedical ecosystem — combining diagnostics, data, technology and innovation to strengthen health systems and support scientific progress across the region.
